Pipeshield design and manufacture a wide range of concrete mattresses to give your subsea installations the best possible protection.
Our Bi-Flex Concrete Mattresses are chosen for most pipeline cable and underwater protection and stabilisation systems. They are typically 10% heavier than comparable products, which gives you greater stability.
Our standard stock range of mattresses are 6m x 3m and come in 0.15m, 0.3m and 0.45m thickness. We can make bespoke sizes to suit your project.
The N2 High Performance Mattresses (patented design) has been developed to enhance edge lift stability making it ideal for higher velocity conditions. It significantly reduces the chances of the mattress ‘rolling up’ and allows the use of standard density concrete where more expensive high density concrete would have to be used.
The N2 has undergone extensive flume test trials which show that it considerably outperforms a mattress with a standard block profile, meaning that edge lift is never critical to the limiting stability of the mattress.
The Uni-Flex Concrete Mattress is a uni-directional flexing mattress made from reinforced concrete hexagonal ‘logs’ with provide both overweight to protect pipelines or act as a load spreading support.
It is ideal for load bearing in soft soils, is easily deployed utilising polypropylene rope lifting loops by means of a conventional installation frame.
The patented Super-Mat solution uses an upgraded base mat whereby multiple layers of mattress can be lifted and installed from a single frame with a quick-release system.
Developed to speed up both the loading and installation of mattresses for optimising vessel utilisation, the Super-Mat is used instead of conventional speed loaders and once the stack is positioned is left in place as a standard mattress.
Pipeshield can design and manufacture a number of bespoke and specialist mattress solutions. This can vary from bespoke sizes and thickness to extra heavy density requirements.
We can manufacture mattresses to have tapered edges on specific edges or ALL edges if required.
