30th July 2018
Welcome to our latest edition of the company newsletter “We’ve got it covered” In this edition we focus on some of the Special Projects we have been involved in during the year.
What has been particularly pleasing is the number of projects involving new products in new sectors. In line with our strategic plan, a new flagship manufacturing facility within the Port of Blyth will soon be up to full speed and over the last 18 months we have gone from strength to strength in the Middle East, delivering a number of large projects within Saudi Arabia as well as establishing Pipeshield International Trading LLC in the UAE and establishing new strategic partners in Qatar. More details can be found in New Locations on page 5. The appointment of new Technical Design Manager Genna Mitchell and Technical Engineer David Runicles has added more capacity to our technical design department as well as a significant investment in new software. Last year saw growth in the Marine Civils and Renewables sectors and 2018 continues in the same trend with several awards in these sectors already this year. There are genuine signs of improvement within the Oil & Gas sector too. We would like to save the final words for our customers. We have secured projects with several new clients this year and hopefully this is just the start of long successful relationships. However, we must reserve a special thank you to our long standing customers who have continued to support us and work with us since 1999. To you all, we thank you.
Directors Message
I keep asking myself, “Where did 2017 go?” Fortunately, we have hit the ground running and picked up where we left off last year.Like many within our area of industry 2016 was a torrid time with work in short supply and margins being forever squeezed. Throughout it all, we continued to actively promote our services and seek new opportunities whilst the big squeeze was on and last year saw some of the fruit of our labours starting to ripen and the scene clearly set for ongoing improvements with the company as busy as ever. 2017 saw results almost treble from the previous year and with wind in our sails it’s a trend that we intend to continue. We should not forget however, this is just the market regaining a level of normality and where we expect it to be. We have formed new strategic partnerships in the Middle East and successfully delivered multiple projects within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are now fast approaching the mobilisation windows for two significant supply contracts for the Nord Stream II project in the Baltics for Allseas, and the Aberdeen Offshore Windfarm Project in the UK for Boskalis ensuring a busy start to 2018. Already in 2018 we have set up manufacturing & supply facilities within the Port of Blyth as part of our strategy to further align ourselves with our key clients. We have a healthy enquiry book, and the potential for further improvements throughout the year will provide more opportunities for all concerned. Long may the trend continue. A big thanks to all our staff and customers who continue to support Pipeshield and our sincerest best wishes for a busy and productive year ahead.
